Johnna's Pick of the Week: Creme Cafe and Lounge (Washington, DC)
Creme
Creamy it is. Creme is another yummy addition to the U Street restaurant family. Low key, small but full of flavor and hipsters. The bartender (*we can really only speak for Thursdays...) has more drink mixes than the master mixologists of the profession. With two flat screens vaulted on the walls above the bar, you won't miss any of the presidential debates while trying to meet and greet on the town. Creme brings back the true flavor of what you want from the neighborhood cafe meets "the lounge". Salad can be a few lettuce just tossed around with some dressing or it could be the one served at Creme: Oprah's Favorite Tomato Salad (*The puffed pastry bursted with sweet fruity flavor which made for a nice combination with fresh basil and olive oil...) Want something a little heavier?? Try the shrimp and grits, they're "Creme-y";-)
Disclaimer: Now not everyone's a fan of Creme we hear, but JKGF's experience was excellent with excellent service. Please don't hold us to any bad experiences that you may have if any if you stop by for a treat here;-)
