Au Gratin Potatoes
Au Gratin Potatoes
4 medium potatoes, boiled (sliced into flat circles, similar to how you would cut if you were making potato chips)
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cup milk
1/2 cup American cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place potatoes in a baking dish. In a small pot over medium heat, melt the butter; stir in the flour, salt and milk. Cook until thickened. Add in the cheese and cook until melted. Pour mixture over the potatoes. Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is browned on top. Serve hot.
*Johnna's tip: This is the easiest side dish known to man kind. The kids will like it, you will like it because it takes 10 minutes, everybody wins!
*Johnna's tip, tip: Meat lovers, top this with some diced bacon and a dollop of sour cream if you're in the need for absolute comfort food;-)
