Drinks on Me: Chocolate Mojito (Alcoholic)
Chocolaty Mojito
1 1/2 oz. simple syrup
2 1/2 oz. white cacao liqueur
1/2 oz. Captain rum (*any dark rum you like)
2 oz. juice of fresh limes
Chocolate shavings
3 thin slices of cucumbers
Mint Leaves
Ice
In a serving glass for the final product, add the mint leaves and squeeze the lime juice over the leaves and kind of smash it up at the bottom of the glass so they can absorb the flavor of one another. In a cocktail shaker, combine the syrup, liqueur, rum and ice and shake. Add the chocolate shavings to the bottom of the serving glass and the cucumbers and pour the shaker mixture over the cucumbers; give a slight stir and serve.
*Johnna's tip: Mojito's are refreshing! The mint leaves...well, they leave this clean minty taste behind. The Chocolate Mojito is the new twist that many restaurants are adding to their menus in efforts to juice the old Cuban favorite up. The cucumbers are delicious after they have been soaked in the liquor for a bit, they are light and refreshing. Top the drink with the remainder of chocolate shavings and mint leaves and Enjoy!
