Meatless, Homemade Spaghetti Made Easy

Meatless, Homemade Spaghetti Sauce Made Easy

1 (28 oz.) can of crushed tomatoes
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
3 tsp. garlic (minced)
3 tbsp. salt (*if you're not a salt person, adjust this to your taste)
Pepper (to taste)
1 tbsp. white sugar
2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
2 tbsp. dried oregano
1 dash crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup fresh basil

In a pot/skillet over medium heat, combine the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic, salt, pepper, sugar, vinegar, oregano and red pepper. Stir and reduce heat to low, cook for 30-32 minutes on a simmer stirring frequently. Add in the basil and stir; serve.

*Johnna's tip: This is the easiest and quickest way to get a pretty good version of homemade spaghetti sauce. It goes perfect with thin spaghetti noodles, tortellini or even add in some meatballs for more flavor. (*For the vegetarians out there, MorningStar meat makes a great version of meatballs for any recipe you want to add them to.) Another recipe to have fun with that won't clog up all your outdoor summer time;-) As always, Enjoy!

*Johnna's tip, tip: Another thing that goes so well in this sauce is spinach. Cook some fresh spinach (*about a bag or two of the bagged spinach that can be found at your local grocery store) and add it to the dish and you have a delicious combination plus your needed veggies;-)
