Food.Fun.Stuff: No More Chucky Cheese!!
No More Chucky Cheese!!
Ahhh, the kid's birthday party. The most common place to have the children's birthday party is at none other than Chucky Cheese. Well, to a foodie, this can be a huge disappointment and not something to look forward to, year after year, anticipating a day of cold pizza and crowded indoor playgrounds:-( JKGF went on a manhunt for upgrades to children's birthday parties that are not only satisfying to the child, but to the foodie palate:-) Drum roll please....:
1.Sugar Buzz (Indianapolis, IN)- Cupcakes with sparklers and you make your own sundaes...need we say more??
Why this is good: They have fun face painting, creative games aaannnddd you get to make your sundaes...fun times in Indiana!!
2. Pretend Town (*Children ages 6 and under) (Richmond, VA)- Your children are as safe as can feasibly be at a child's birthday party.
Why this is good? In addition to the fact that is offers one of the safest indoor playgrounds, this place allows you to get delivery from your choice of restaurant as the dining option. Can we say, sign us up now, please??
3. Party Like a Rock Star! (Southern California)-The studio is brought to your house and the kids will get to make cool music and take the actual CD home with them:-) (* http://www.rockstarworkshop.net/index.html)
Why this is good: Since it's at your house, you can make the foods that you like, in addition to the fact that this is a healthier option for the children in attendance... and the kids will be more than entertained!
4. Captain Cooks (San Diego, CA)- This is culinary school for kids!
Why this is good: Well if this isn't a foodies dream, JKGF doesn't know what is. This is the opportunity to share with your children your love of cooking, while introducing them to food in a fun and exciting new way...teach, learn, eat!
5. Marmalade Skies (Austin, TX)-Bring your own food and paint!
Why this is good: Your artistic child will be able to make the total mess they've been waiting to make all year on your carpet in the comfort of an art studio who welcomes paint on the floors! You can bring your own food too, which is another awesome reason to host a party here. *Where you can cook the food yourself, this is always a better option for your little ones;-)
This list is set in no particular order, but lists the top 5 finds for the children's birthday party options that won't make the adult parent sick and disgusted after tasting the cold pizza and stale soda. Smile in adoration at your growing child, get some face paint on you and of course Eat! Enjoy;-)
