Chicken+BBQ=Good Food
Chicken+BBQ=Good Food
2 tbsp. chicken broth
3/4 cup onions (diced)
1 tsp. garlic (minced)
14 oz. ground chicken breast
1 cup barbecue sauce (divided evenly)
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. regular mustard
1 tsp. ground thyme
3/4 cup bread crumbs
Pack of 2 oz. hamburger buns
In a pan over medium heat, heat the chicken broth. Add in the onions and saute until soft. Add in the garlic and cook for about 5-7 more minutes; remove from heat to cool; add into a mixing bowl with the remaining ingredients (*use only 1/2 of the barbecue sauce) except the hamburger buns:-) Form meat mixture into hamburger patties and cook over medium heat in a pan lined with cooking spray for about 5-7 minutes on each side of the burger (*You have determine how well you want the meat to be, once it is browned this is a good sign that its done and ready to be eaten). Spread the remaining barbecue sauce on the burger tops and allow to heat through for about 1-2 minutes. Serve with hamburger buns.
*Johnna's tip: This recipe can be the most non-fatty go-to meal of your summer. Substitute the chicken broth, bread crumbs and hamburger buns for healthier options such as no-fat chicken broth or whole wheat burger buns.
*Johnna's tip, tip: Serve with your favorite condiments i.e. ketchup, mustard, mayo (*recipe found on JKGF), pickles, Swiss or provolone cheeses...ooo the possibilities!
