Etiquette Tuesday: Close Your Mouth

We thought this was ancient history until this past holiday season: Do people still smack when their eating their food? Do people still talk with their mouth full of food?? Apparently they do. This is an age old rule that most parents reprimand their children for at a young age: Don't talk with your mouth full. While feasting on Christmas dinner, we were quite bothered by the fact that someone actually felt the need to let everyone else in the room know about every bite they took. Smacking your food is repulsive! Especially above the age of 10. The funny thing is this etiquette tip is not that hard and actually would enhance the taste of the food if it could stay enclosed in your mouth.

Then to make matters worse, the person proceeded to talk. Even more grossness. Shockingly, we were able to hold in our food and not proceed to vomit after seeing and hearing the contents of this persons meal in their mouth. More people should understand chew with your mouth closed and you'll automatically be more appealing. Imagine being on a date with someone who does this, this is grounds for calling this the last date. It's simple chew with your mouth closed and keep it quiet, please!
