Food.Fun.Stuff: Pencil In On The Calendar
A few things:
1. B-Day!! So with birthdays in today's society comes deals out the wa-zoo. This week we have received freebies from ColdStone Creamery, BestBuy and Austin Grill, to name a few, just for being on their mailing list all year. This ensures you get goodies when your b-day rolls around. Sign up and get in on the freebies that come with getting one year older and wiser;-) (*Don't want to flood your email inbox with daily emails from random establishments?? Set up an account that is only for these types of deals. Every other place you go to nowadays wants that email address so they can pump their purpose.) We just found out Open City takes 10% off your bill for the special birthday person (*Thanks to Erin the Freebie Diva for this one;-)
2. Our favorite DC holiday is coming up...well not really an official holiday, but it should be. Restaurant Week! Restaurant is basically the annual food sale in the District, the equivalent of the annual designer shoe sale @ Neiman's each year in January that we get too excited for and exhaust all our funds...$20.09 3-course lunches and $35.09 3-course dinners will flood the cities top dining destinations from August 24-30, 2009. Making reservations now would be wise because any and everyone will be treating themselves to a 7 pm dinner or 12 o'clock lunch. 2941, Art and Soul and Yaku are among some of the participants this year.
3. Cupcakes galore. The Washington Post Going Out Gurus will be hosting a happy hour in honor of their writers with August birthdays (*Yaay for August babies!!) With every good birthday celebration must come good birthday cake hence Georgetown Cupcake will be providing 400 cupcakes for the festivities. There will also be FREE food (*while supplies last...) and a raffle. Fun times and Happy Birthday!!
The Where: Clarendon Ballroom, 3185 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA
The When: August 13, 2009, 6 pm-8 pm
The Money: FREE (*Well unless you plan on consuming some spirits, then you gotta pay for those.)
