Food.Fun.Stuff: Food Fight!

Food Fight! This November is the overtake of the Districts food scene when the food industry's biggest names come for DC's Central Kitchen's "Capital Food Fight". Anthony Bourdain of No Reservations will be the leader of the pack alongside Jose Andres who will host the Food Fight. The battling chefs will be Michael Mina of Bourbon Steak, Tracy O' Grady of Willow, Mike Isabella of Zaytinya, Bobby Varua of 701 Pennsylvania Ave. and two-time winner Barton Seaver of Blue Ridge. They will have to 10 minutes to strut their stuff in front of a panel of judges to include Eric Ripert (*Famed chef), Food Network's Ted Allen and Carla Hall of last year's Top Chef.

The When: Wednesday, November 11, 2009, 6 pm-9 pm (*We know, we know...way in advance?? This will be one of the biggest foodie events in the area so you have to get your tickets and schedules together early or you could miss out...)

The Where: Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW Washington, D.C. 20004

The Money: $175 (*$150 if brought before October 9)

More Info?: Check here.

The Why Go??: More than 50 of the area's restaurants will be offering up samples of their signature dishes including, but not limited to, Cafe Atlantico, Kaz Sushi Bar, SEI and Zengo. Also, this is for a great cause: Combating hunger and creating opportunity. DC's Central Kitchen is used as a central location to prepare and deliver meals to partner social service agencies and train men and women for jobs in the food service industry. We are excited to give back, welcome Anthony Bourdain to the area and eat really good food, fun times.

Nova Scotia's vibrant culinary scene is sizzling of late. Lobster is on the menu, naturally, but their wineries, dairies, and local produce make it a hotbed for foodies
