Food.Fun.Stuff: Belgium Independence Day
Another reason to drink this week...Belgium's Independence Day is tomorrow. July must be the month of celebrating Independence Day's, first the U.S., then Bastille Day and now Belgium. With a Belgian Independence Day celebration, there must be beer. Belgian beer is popular in most bars around the District and tomorrow would be the day to take advantage of the perks that will come with the western European country's Independence celebration. July 21, 1931 marks the day that Belgium gained its freedom from the Netherlands.
Some places to check out and celebrate:
Brasserie Beck (*We're not fans of the food, but the beer fits the cause) and Marvins (*Based on Marvin Gaye's stint in Belgium, soul food meets steak 'n frites)
