Johnna's Pick of the Week: Indique Heights (D.C)

We were in a need of an Indian food fix and in the Friendship Heights neighborhood...what better place to try than Indique Heights?? So we went for it...samosas, papri chaat, chicken tikka makhani, the works. We went in with lower expectations than usual (*Maybe because our vision is clouded by the likes of Rasika, which has some of the most deelish Indian food on the other side of Chinatown...), and what we came out with is a surprise to our taste buds. Now, days after leaving, we can't seem to shake the flavorful shallot potatoes or the mint sauce served with every meal that matches perfectly with the chicken tikka and rice (*we know we probably weren't supposed to mix all these flavors together...but we couldn't resist;-).

Hidden in the top floor of a random building on Wisconsin Avenue, Indique Heights is a great find when you're in need of some good Indian street food. On its menu is a whole section dedicated to Indian street snacks: Vegetable Samosa Chaat, Syrian Lamb Fry, Vada Pav, Pao Bhaji and the list goes on and on. The service matched the mood too: polite, chill and not too over the top. All in all, we had a nice meal out with a friend (*great place to celebrate a promotion or group dinner...not really a spot for romance;-)

What we didn't care for? Some of the seating is kind of low, so ladies please don't bother putting on those 4" Louboutins' for this outing, keep it low so your knees get a break...We suggest reserving one of the tables along the windows.

The Money: You can enjoy a meal with a street snack, main dish and a drink for $35 (including tax and tip;-)
Metro: Friendship Heights (Red Line)
Parking: Yes! Underground (located on Wisconsin Circle) and the charge is $3.00 with the restaurant validation.
