The Grand Opening of Red Velvet! Red Velvet is the Districts newest cupcake obsession and today starting at 11 am, it will be offering a free cupcake to its first 500 customers:-) Of course, JKGF will be in the building and will hopefully leave the premises without purchasing more than 4 cupcakes (*Recently we left a local cupcake shop and 6 cupcakes came with us...) Stop by and get there Early to beat the rush...
Since we already checked the place out for our readers, we have the low down:
Vanilla Bean-Deelish!! (This is definitely one of our top 3.)
Key West-If your into Lime, you will definitely want to try this one
Southern Belle-Yaay for more Red Velvet cupcakes in the area!
B-day-Stick a candle in this one and make it cute for someone special...Celebrate:-)

Hey J,
I got a chance to try Red Velvet--I left with 4 the "Obama", "Morning Coffee", Coconut, and peanut butter. I don't know if the Obama was a limited time special--it should be on their regular menu. Pineapple cake with salty macadamia frosting--YUM YUM. Peanut butter lovers will appreciate the peanut butter cupcake--not to sugary and has a pure peanut butter taste. Morning Coffee was a chocolate cupcake with mocha frosting--it was good, but I my favorite mocha cupcake is from Sticky Fingers Bakery in Columbia Heights which is a high bar to meet. : ) The coconut was fine.
Your friend in FOOD,
LT
