Homemade Humus
4 large garlic cloves
2 15 oz. cans of garbanzo beans (drained)
1/2 cup or more olive oil
1/8 tsp. of hot pepper sauce
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
Salt
Pepper
2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
In a food processor, chop up the garlic. Add in the beans and process for 1 minute. With the processor running, slowly add in 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce, 1 tbsp. lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste. If the mixture is to thick add in olive oil until mixture is spreadable. Stir in parsley. Taste to adjust seasonings to your liking; Serve!
*Johnna's tip: Humus is a good snack to serve and snack on during the summer and the winter. It is the perfect side dish and the flavors make you feel like your in a Lebanese restaurant year around. This is one of the easiest recipes to make that is filled to the brim with flavor...try it!
*Johnna's tip, tip: Best is served with pita bread (*can be found at your local grocery store) and some fresh olives;-)
